Facility History & Construction
Construction on the Glencoe City Center kicked off during the fall of 2009. Demolition started with the west ’57 edition, changing the look of the building exterior. By November 23rd of 2009, demolition and the facility roof were complete. December brought interior remodeling, January marked the beginning of installation of the beautiful new windows and March activities included installation of plumbing, electrical, concrete and walls.
A $2 million bond was issued in early 2010 to complete the funding for the project. $2.5 million in donations was raised for the $5.2 million project.
The remarkable restoration of this historic facility wrapped up in the late summer of 2010.
