The Glencoe Streets Department is located at 320 13th St. W., and is open Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  The Street Department can be reached at (320) 864-5491, or if staff cannot be reached at that number during normal business hours, please contact City Hall at (320) 864-5586.

The Streets Department provides many services including snow removal, pot hole patching, street sweeping, alley maintenance and upkeep, catch basin cleaning, storm sewer cleaning, sidewalk inspections, upkeep and maintenance of the numerous holding ponds and waterways within the city limits, tree trimming and removal of storm damaged or disease infected trees.  Seasonal services include curbside Christmas tree pick-up and mosquito spraying.

As of 2003, Glencoe was home to 28 miles of streets, 4 miles of gravel alleys and 3 acres of paved parking lots.

 

GLENCOE YARD WASTE SITE:
The City of Glencoe offers a compost site at 802 9th St. W. for garden waste, leaf and grass clippings, trees, and tree clippings.  These materials may be dropped off during open hours only. 

Update 3.29.17 — The yard waste site is now open for spring yard clean-up through 4.17.17.  Beginning 4.18.17 the yard waste site will revert back to its regular hours as listed below.

3RD WEEK OF APRIL through NOVEMBER 15TH: 

MONDAYS, WEDNESDAYS, FRIDAYS, SATURDAYS     8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS   8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

SUNDAYS 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

REPORTING CONCERNS-

If you identify a maintenance concern such as pot holes,  sidewalk safety issues, problems with snow or ice, or dead or damaged trees, the City of Glencoe  welcomes you to report them.  Since there are a limited number of maintenance personnel in the community to spot potential problems, the City of Glencoe appreciates your help to ensure public safety.  When reporting a concern, please note the location and type of concern.
