The City of Glencoe is ramping up public participation in the new Comprehensive Plan by inviting residents to attend one of the plan’s upcoming Virtual Public Workshops.
Two identical Virtual Public Workshops are scheduled for Thursday, February 18 – one from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm and another one at 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Offering two sessions will help people find the time that works for their schedule.
The workshops will be held via ZOOM. To participate, please register ahead of time by visiting one of the following links:
- Afternoon (1:00 pm) session: https://bit.ly/Glencoe1pm
- Evening (6:30 pm) session: https://bit.ly/Glencoe630pm
A presentation providing an overview of the plan and the workshop’s facilitated activities will begin promptly at the scheduled start time.
The Comprehensive Plan will guide the City’s evolution over the next twenty years, and will include recommendations for land use, housing, business development, parks, transportation, and downtown vitality, among others. The plan’s completion is expected for October 2021.
Community input is vital for guiding the future of Glencoe. In addition to the Public Workshop, the planning process includes numerous opportunities for residents to contribute their ideas and comments. Due to COVID-19, current activities are online-only, but include a wide variety of tools and opportunities, including:
- A project website at glencoeplan.org with information and opportunities to comment
- An online survey, available at the website, to collect ideas for the plan’s vision
- An interactive online map, also available at the website, to collect issues and ideas for improvement
The plan’s ONLINE VIRTUAL Public Workshop will offer opportunities for residents to learn about the plan, ask questions, and provide valuable guidance through fun and interactive online activities and questions. A brief presentation will be followed by visioning exercises that build on community values and set goals for the future of Glencoe.
