POWER PLANT OPERATOR

Glencoe Light and Power Commission is an electric utility seeking an individual in the mechanical technician field (or equivalent work experience) to operate and maintain its generation facilities and substations in compliance with all applicable state, federal and industry related regulations.

Desired education and experience include a two-year degree in an auto or diesel mechanical technical program with moderate experience in electrical and mechanical work or equivalent.  Ideal candidate would also have knowledge and understanding of A/C and D/C electrical systems.

Requires a valid driver’s license and must obtain a Class A commercial driver’s license within 6 months of employment.  Ability to report to the Generation Facility within 30 minutes. Must obtain a “Special Engineer” boilers license within the first 6 months of employment. A post-job offer physical, including drug/alcohol test is required.

Glencoe Volunteer Fire Department is now accepting applications for Volunteer Firefighters.

Qualifications include, must be 18 years of age, possess a valid Minnesota driver’s license, live within a 5 minute response time of the Glencoe Fire Station, and compliance of the City of Glencoe hiring practices. Applications are available online or at City of Glencoe offices located at 1107 11th St E. Notification will then be sent to applicants for the time and date for the testing procedures that will include physical agility, written examination and oral interview. Commission / Board
