Glencoe in Motion along with the City of Glencoe to launch Demonstration Pilot Project

Demonstration Kickoff Event Flyer Take the Survey!

The City of Glencoe along with Glencoe in Motion is set to launch a short-term, low-cost temporary biking/walking lane demonstration project at Hennepin and 13th Street following up Hennepin to 18th Street.

The project will allow members of the public to try out potential street changes designed to improve safety and enhance the community. The pilot will start on September 15 and be installed for approximately two weeks. The project will work to build support and excitement for walking and biking improvements, help people envision what a trail for people walking and biking on Hennepin Ave. could look like and engage with residents around a potential 2024 reconstruction of Hennepin Avenue (Hennepin Ave. is a McLeod County Road).

This demonstration offers an opportunity to collect public input regarding street improvements using temporary, low-cost materials before investing in longer-term solutions. Changes will be evaluated during the project to consider project impacts. Residents and visitors are invited to come and try the demonstration while it is installed.
