Final Glencoe Transportation Study Report released 3.19.2020.
The City of Glencoe, MnDOT District 8 & McLeod County are pleased to release the final report of the Glencoe Transportation Study. MnDOT and its partners committed to work with the greater Glencoe community to ensure that the community’s concerns and aspirations were directly reflected in the alternatives developed as part of the Glencoe Transportation Study and to provide feedback on how the community influenced recommendations and decisions.
The goals of the Transportation Study:
- Improve safety of intersections along Highway 212 and Highway 22
- Improve safety for pedestrians and bicyclists along Highway 212 and Highway22
- Develop a plan that outlines appropriate access along Highway 212 and Highway 22
- Study the current route of Highway 22
Recommendations were released to the community in the fall of 2019 which included constructing a J-turn at the intersection of Hwy 212 and Chandler Ave. and constructing a single lane roundabout at Hwy 212 and Morningside Dr.
MnDOT District 8 has submitted an application to receive federal safety funding for both projects. MnDOT should be notified this spring if funding has been approved.
